In Immersion, Anaiwan artist Lesley Murray invites viewers into a transformative journey through her Country, the New England area of NSW, as seen through the prismatic lens of recovery. Following a life-altering stroke, Lesley’s perception of the world was irrevocably altered, sharpened in some ways, softened in others. This body of work captures that kaleidoscopic vision of Aboriginal immersive impressionist lands, seas and skies with bursts of colour that reflect both the disorientation and newfound clarity she experienced during her healing.
