Bibbulmun Track | Brookton Highway to Mt Cooke Pack & Camp 3 Day Hike

Off the Beaten Track WA

The 42 km hike from Brookton Highway to Mt Cooke along the Bibbulmun Track is a breathtaking journey through the heart of the Darling Range, offering a true immersion into Western Australia’s diverse landscapes.

This section of the Bibbulmun Track takes you through towering jarrah and wandoo forests, across rugged granite outcrops, and past tranquil creeks that wind their way through the bush. The trail undulates gently at times before revealing steeper ascents, rewarding hikers with stunning panoramic views.

Along the way, you’ll pass Canning Campsite, a peaceful spot nestled among the trees, before continuing towards Mt Cuthbert, Mt Vincent and the impressive Mt Cooke, the highest hike-able peak in the Darling Scarp. The final ascent to Mt Cooke’s summit is a highlight, where vast rock slabs and scattered boulders lead to sweeping views stretching over the surrounding wilderness. Hidden along the ridge lies the Mt Cooke Cave, a fascinating natural shelter that adds an element of adventure to the trek. This multi-day journey is a perfect mix of challenge and serenity, offering a deep connection to nature, a sense of accomplishment, and the magic of being completely off the beaten track.
