Wild Paruna Guided Hike

The Hike Collective

Explore steep escarpments, seasonal creek lines, and heritage landmarks on this immersive journey through Paruna Wildlife Sanctuary.

Venture into one of Perth’s most spectacular and underrated private sanctuaries — where ancient landscapes and modern-day adventure collide. This 6.5km guided hike through Paruna Wildlife Sanctuary offers a rare opportunity to explore a protected corridor between Walyunga and Avon Valley National Parks.

Carved into the ancient Yilgarn Block — a rugged granite landform over 2.5 billion years old — the trail takes you through dramatic ridgelines, cascading creek lines, and steep, forested slopes bursting with biodiversity. This is a trail that challenges the legs and feeds the soul.

You’ll follow the scenic Quenda Trail — a gentler introduction to Paruna’s famously hilly terrain — winding beneath towering Wandoo trees and through whispering paperbark forests. With every step, the views expand, revealing breathtaking vistas over the valley below.

Along the way, stand in awe at the heritage-listed John Forrest Cairns — a lasting marker from the 1879 expedition that first surveyed this remote region, connecting you to a story far older than the trail beneath your feet.

With expertly maintained trails, natural stone steps, and panoramic lookouts, Paruna delivers a powerful dose of wild and calm in equal measure.
