Gail Doust Keirle

Gail grew up on family farm near Manjimup, deep in the Jarrah and Marri forests of southern Western Australia, before spending her early adult life in suburban Perth.

In 2005 she moved to the Perth Hills and once again connected with the forest, which now inspires her to explore its beauty with botanically inspired watercolours.

In 2008 Gail commenced art instruction with Virginia Ward and then in 2009 with Lori Neuzerling, who encouraged and inspired her to explore the exquisiteness of watercolours, and to paint the subtle and showy shades, textures, hews, shadows, and the dance of our astounding Western Australian biodiversity. Favourite inspirations now come from nuts, bark, leaves, birds’ nests, lichens, mushrooms, and fungi.
