Getting to the Perth Hills

By car

Drive east from the city towards the Perth Hills. The Perth Hills can be reached via multiple highways and main roads, depending on which region you are visiting. All towns of the Perth Hills are within a 35 minute to one-hour drive of Perth’s CBD.

By bus

Transperth buses run from the Perth CBD to Mundaring, Kalamunda, Armadale, and Jarrahdale. If you’d like to visit the town of Serpentine, there is a twice daily TransWA service from the East Perth terminal.

Please note that there is no bus service to Gidgegannup.

By train

Catch a train to the foothills via the Airport (to the High Wycombe Station), Midland, and Armadale train lines. These stations are best if you are wanting to visit the town centres of Kalamunda, Mundaring, or Armadale respectively. Each of these train stations have a Transperth bus link that will take you up to the Perth Hills.

The Armadale train line is currently closed. The service is being extended to Byford and is expected to be operational by the end of 2025. This will improve accessibility to the southern part of the Perth Hills. There is a Transperth bus service in place to replace the train line.

There may be construction on some of these train lines. Please check the Transperth website for updates.
