Alternatively, a shorter trail for those with less time is the 1.7-kilometre loop Cockatoo Circuit. Or, both Spinebill Stroll and Robin Ramble are 3.5-kilometre loops.
Next, jump in the car and drive to Hills Emporio along the Scenic Heritage Drive. If you have time, stop at the picturesque Churchman Brook Dam to soak up the scenic views and let the kids go wild on the playground.
Every drive needs a pit-stop, so after your walk, head to Hills Emporio in Karragullen to refuel with petrol, coffee, and road trip snacks. If you’re down for a picnic lunch, grab a couple of freshly made rolls to take onto the next leg of the journey.
Head to the breathtaking Araluen valley and experience the enchanting magic of spring at Araluen Botanic Park. With its giant canopy of bushland, the park transforms into a kaleidoscope of colour and beauty. Feast your senses on 170,000 tulips, 40,000 delightful spring bulbs, an international camellia collection, and heritage roses in full bloom. Whatever time of year you’re visiting, there’s always something blooming.
Find a secluded corner to enjoy your picnic or if you’re in search of something more substantial – head to Chalet Healy cafe, led by the renowned Chef Pablo Henke. With more than 20 years of experience, Chef Pablo brings a world of flavours to Araluen Botanic Park, drawing inspiration from the breathtaking natural surroundings and Australia’s vibrant dining scene.
Spring in Raeburn Orchards is a season of renewal and breathtaking beauty. It’s when stone fruit trees burst into full pink and white blossom, providing a haven for photographers and nature lovers alike. Come for a gentle ramble through the extremely Instagrammable orchard and stay for a picnic amongst the green. While you’re at it, be sure to make a visit to the packing shed to pick up fresh fruit and local goodies to take home. Or, grab a coffee and cake at Coffee@The Shed.
It’s time to wind down with a tipple. Last Drop Elizabethan is perfect for those craving a hearty pub meal and locally brewed beer.
