We’re knee deep into autumn in the Perth Hills! This month is packed with Easter events, school holiday fun, and many reasons to explore our nature filled region. Cooler days and cosy nights are coming – whether you’re in the mood for an egg-cellent Easter event, wandering a bushland trail, finding peace or discovering a new café. From mouthwatering foodie news, to events, and even an accessible guided walk series, April is “full as a goog” with new things to do!

GIDGEGANNUP
Celebrate Easter in Gidge! We’re sure you’ll be following your nose to the Gidgegannup Bakery, for fresh-out-of-the-oven hot cross buns. While you’re there, why not hop on over to the Noble Falls Tavern on Easter Day for a day filled with fun for the whole family. Kids can enjoy face painting from 12-3pm, plus there will be live music from 1to4pm, tasty food, and of course, chocolate! Get more information here.

MUNDARING
The Mundaring region is home to ANOTHER new café – Silky Froth! The Mounties locals are stoked Silky Froth has brought caffeine back to Mount Helena. Their friendly baristas are serving up silky coffees, specialty brews and homemade cabinet treats – tasty toasties, healthy wraps, delicious cakes and more. The sweet café is opposite both the Pioneer Park playground and the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail – making it a perfect spot for a babycino date or cycling break. Get more information here.

KALAMUNDA
Think hiking isn’t for you? Think again! Join the Accessible Adventures Series with the legends at Off The Beaten Track WA, a groundbreaking program making hiking accessible for EVERY body. Kicking off in April (with a Whistlepipe Gully Wander), and running till October 2025, these inclusive hikes welcome people of all abilities, particularly those with low hearing, low vision, and cognitive disabilities. Each adventure includes trained guides, educational elements, and morning tea, with carers or support people welcome to attend free of charge. ARMADALE
Reset mind and body with a peaceful, immersive yoga retreat this Easter long weekend. Kookaburra Yoga is holding a three-night Easter Yoga & Meditation Retreat. This includes an inspiring program of yoga, sunrise & sunset nature meditations, sound healing, ritual, bush walks & river swims, and tasty vegan food. SERPENTINE-JARRAHDALE
Saddle up the kids for a horsey adventure! Jarrahdale Equestrian Centre’s Horse Camp (on April 24) is for children aged 12 to 17 years old and any experience level. There are different activities to enjoy during the day including Horsemanship, Polocrosse, Jumping, with a mini gymkhana and trail ride around the Jarrahdale Hills. Parents can even watch the afternoon Gymkhana and join in on the laughs. Pony Camp (April 17) is available for those younger than 12. Get more information here.
