Triple Bill : Ignorance Was Bliss | Rock Around the Clock | Stewart Herbertson

Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre

What an event!

Contemporary dance-theatre piece Ignorance was Bliss is a window into the past; a depiction of a world that was once happier because it was filled with ignorance and innocence. It will transport you back in time, where everyone was doing the twist, playing on the streets until dark and wouldn’t even be able to fathom the concept of the internet. In today’s instantaneous, everchanging world, we crave authenticity and yearn for simpler times. But as we look back on our history, we question whether ‘the good old days’ were every really that good. This piece that has a little something for everyone. There are moments that will make you laugh, others that will make you think, and you may even shed a tear or two by the end.

The Basilios, Perth’s dynamic crooning siblings in their 7-piece band, take you twisting and rocking around the clock for this timeless and energetic tribute to the classics including Elvis, Buddy Holly, and Little Eva. Prepare to be transported as Carlos and Paul Basilio enchant you with their soulful renditions and irresistible charm. Get ready to swing and sway to their melodic magic in an unforgettable experience that celebrates the art of crooning.

As if a double bill wasn’t enough … to complete the event, before the show and during the interval Stewart Herbertson will be taking the KPAC Foyer back to the Swinging 60’s with a musical celebration of the decade of peace and love!
