Kalamunda in Bloom
With fresh air, warmer days and plenty to discover, Kalamunda is calling this spring. Experience events such as the Perth Hills Spring Festival, Arboria Chamber Music Festival and Kalamunda Open Studios, then venture out to explore colourful wildflowers, flowing waterfalls and scenic trails – all this is closer than you think.
Spring spans the Noongar seasons of Djilba and Kambarang, an ideal time to experience the stunning wildflower displays in Kalamunda and the surrounding area. As the hills come alive with vibrant colour, they create a spectacular backdrop for outdoor adventures.
Djilba, from August to September, is a season of transition, when cold mornings gradually give way to warmer days. Yellow wattles are among the first wildflowers to bloom as the land stirs with new life. From October to November, Kambarang brings a second spring of colour and growth. Bush foods become more plentiful, while sunny days encourage greater movement across the landscape as reptiles emerge from hibernation.
