Scattered amongst the local cafes, pubs, and shops of Byford you’ll find nine sculptures from internationally renowned, local artist Len Zuks. The sculptures tell the story of historical figures from ideas put forward by Byford residents and feature the stories of the early settlers, local heroes, horse racing and even includes boxing kangaroos to entertain the kids.
The 7 km Byford Sculptures Trail follows the South West Hwy through the Byford Town Centre and winds it’s way south to the edge of town.
Visitors can take a leisurely walk along the trail to discover highlights like the Returned Serviceman honouring the Byford men who returned from the First World War, or the Child Health Sister sculpture dedicated to Sister Wossley, who looked after the local children in the 1940s.
Commissioned by the Byford Progress Association with support from the Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale, the sculptures capture Byford’s vibrant history.
