What’s NEW in the Perth Hills this March

Amazing autumn is here in the Perth Hills! This season is packed with events and endless reasons to explore our beautiful region. Those perfect sunny days and cosy nights are calling – whether you’re in the mood for a festival, catching a show, or discovering a new café. From mouthwatering foodie news to comedy gigs, and even a must-visit farm shop, March is bursting with fun.

We’ve rounded up all the exciting new things to experience in the Perth Hills this month.

GIDGEGANNUP

We’d planned to share the Gidge gem, Macris Fruit Shed, with you this month. Now, it’s even more important, as the popular farm shop had been badly affected by the recent freak summer storm. Be sure to support local and head to the shed for freshly picked fruit and veg, plus milk and eggs. Follow their socials for regular updates on seasonal produce, plus frequent visits from coffee vans and the Two Groupers Fish Supply truck. Get more information here.

MUNDARING

The Mundaring region is home to a new cafe! The Sawpit Café is named for the area’s timber industry past, and the hardy sawyers who spent their days working heard in the local sawpits during the late 1800s. We bet they needed a coffee or two! A home-style menu offers up salads, gourmet rolls, snacks, and baked goodies. Think slow cooked brisket on Turkish bread, arancini balls, scones, bagels and more. Will you be able to finish their “Sawpit Brekky”? Grab your mates and find out.

KALAMUNDA

Currently many of the Bickley Valley wineries are knee deep in their annual vintage and harvesting plump grapes from their vines. Before you visit a Perth Hills winery, check their socials first, to make sure their cellar doors will be open. We hear La Fattoria will be reopening on March 6th. We look forward to sipping our way around all the Bickley Valley’s new drops!

Spice up your weekend, on Saturday March 22nd, with chilli and spirit themed market stalls, food trucks, live entertainment and for those brave enough… a chilli eating competition!
