8 School Holiday Events & Activities in Perth Hills Mundaring

Looking for an easy family day out this school holidays? Perth Hills Mundaring has you covered with events, trails and stacks of kid-approved fun that won’t break the bank. Pack the picnic rug, a sense of adventure and your gum boots – here are 8 ways to make the most of the spring school holidays.

Family Friendly Perth Hills WanderFest Events

Perth Hills WanderFest is popping up at Lake Leschenaultia this long weekend! The inaugural travelling trails series has Off The Beaten Track WA hosting limited edition guided hikes at the lake – perfect if you’ve ever wanted to find out more about the lake or even discover it for the first time. The accessible walk is for EVERY BODY!

The flat loop makes the walk easy for pushing strollers too. $30 adults, $10 kids and carers are free – each booking includes a delicious morning tea by The Flackseed and a goody bag. Choose from one (or more) of the four guided walks on Friday 26 to Monday 29 September. Walk times vary daily. Spots are filling fast – book here.

The Perth Hills WanderFest vibes continue at the lake with free events between 10am-2pm on the Saturday & Sunday: This is when you’ll find Chidlow Farmers Markets with live tunes and artisan stalls. Plus, there are drop-in workshops by Mundaring Arts Centre – free for everyone to create a masterpiece to take home and where you can chat with local Chidlow artists to learn more about the fantastic Mundaring Hills Open Studios event coming up in October!

For those kiddos curious about the night sky, book the family on the limited edition StarGrazing at Lake Leschenaultia (Saturday 27 & Sunday 28 September) twilight guided hike and astro tour.

Family Friendly Nature Themed Events

Nearer to Natures sessions at the Perth Hills Discovery Centre are a hit with little explorers: learn bush skills, meet native critters and discover why the jarrah forest is special. Pull on your gumboots for the Daw Family Farm Tour (28 September). Meet baby goats, a cow and take a peek at life on the land.

Family Friendly Markets

Follow your nose to Gourmet in the Park (27 September). Throw down a rug and soak up food trucks, sweet treats and lawn games at shady Morgan John Morgan Park in Glen Forrest. Station Masters Markets (12 October) rounds it out with handmade crafts and artisan produce. Let pocket money go towards something quirky while you soak up the community buzz. These events are relaxed, local, and include free kids’ activities.

Mix a Mundaring event or two with bike rides, easy walks and nature-packed moments for a holiday lineup that’s fun, flexible and full of fresh air. Keep it casual, keep it outdoors, and head to Perth Hills Mundaring this spring school holidays.
