From twinkling lights and carol singing to crafty workshops and street festivals, Christmas in the Perth Hills is extra special. Our five regions each bring its own community feel, making it easy to enjoy a whole festive season of things to do in the Perth Hills.
GIDGEGANNUP

If thoughts of Christmas start with mince pies warm from the oven, hop in the car and head to Gidgegannup Bakery. This classic country stop on Toodyay Road is all about hearty, home-style baking and good coffee. In the lead-up to Christmas it’s the perfect place to pick up fruit-laden Christmas cake, a box of mince pies for your next gathering, and a few extra Christmas-themed treats for the road.
MUNDARING

Mundaring leans into a community Christmas, with creative workshops and family-friendly carols framed by towering trees. On the Village Green in Chidlow, Chidlow Carols on the Green (6 December) delivers an evening of festive fun. Snow machines give that “white Christmas” vibe, kids are kept happy with free mini golf and face painting, plus food trucks take care of dinner. As the sun goes down, The Hills Choir takes to the stage, while families relax on picnic rugs under the stars.
For something hands-on, the Christmas Wreath Workshop at Flow Stoneville offers a creative way to get into the Christmas spirit. Work with natural textures and seasonal accents to craft your own wreath. All materials, tools and refreshments are included, and no experience is needed. You’ll leave with your own handmade piece that will take pride of place on your front door.
The Perth Hills Christmas Mega Artisan Market (13 & 14 December) is where you can tick off your Christmas list. Held over two days at Mundaring Arena, it’s the biggest indoor artisan market in the region. Browse more than 120 stalls showcasing WA’s finest woodworkers, artists, clothing designers, toymakers, potters, and jewellers, plus gourmet producers. The air‑conditioned event is the perfect place to shop while supporting local creatives in a relaxed, festive atmosphere.
KALAMUNDA

Kalamunda is made for Christmas, with its village streets, creative community and orchard-sprinkled surrounds. For families and anyone who thrives on glitter and glue, Faire & Co’s Christmas Craft Party (13 December) is where the whole family can make decorations and keepsakes (without the mess), and you’ll head home armed with ideas for continuing the fun around your own table.
S&R Orchard’s Christmas Fruit Picking Festival celebrates summer. Wander the stone fruit trees, fill your buckets with sun-warmed fruit and take Christmas themed happy snaps amongst the red props. It promises to be a classic Perth Hills day out, with tractor rides, an animal farm and more.
When the heat of the day fades, lace up your walking shoes and don your Santa hat for Santa’s Starlight Serenade Hike. This 4km guided evening walk with the legends at Off the Beaten Track WA combines a bite of the Bibbulmun Track, starry skies and a festive soundtrack by a local musician, offering a social way to embrace the festive season outdoors.
Back in town, the Kalamunda Night Market – Christmas Edition wraps it all up with stalls, street food and live entertainment at Stirk Park. On Friday 19 December, wander between local artisan stalls, pick up handmade gifts and enjoy an easy dinner from a food truck. Be sure to bring a picnic rug!
ARMADALE

Armadale’s Christmas is all about community spirit and colour, with lights trails, markets and many chances to join in a carol singalong. The 2025 Christmas Lights Trail invites you to explore the area after dark, discovering homes and landmarks transformed by creative light displays. Load up the car with family or friends and make a night of winding through the streets, stopping for photos and snacks along the way.
An evening edition of the Roleystone Markets is happening on 7 December. Be sure to head to Roleystone Cross Park to browse for gifts and festive table goodies. Local makers, growers and producers come together to offer everything from handmade gifts and art to fresh produce and sweet treats, all accompanied by live music and that relaxed Perth Hills market atmosphere.
As Christmas draws closer, Carols by Candlelight & Christmas Parade (13 December) brings a colourful parade of Christmas characters, followed by traditional carols as dusk falls, with families watching on rugs. The much-loved Carols by Torchlight (14 December) at Araluen Botanic Park offers a singalong amongst the beautiful gardens. Santa will also take the stage.
SERPENTINE-JARRAHDALE

Down in our southern region of Serpentine Jarrahdale, the Christmas Street Festival has stalls with gifts, food and festive treats, while entertainment and activities keep everyone amused. There’s a warm, small-town street-party feel as people mingle, shop, snack and soak up the atmosphere. Of course, there’s a visit from Santa too.
The SJ Farmers Market is your go-to every Saturday morning in the lead-up to Christmas. With 20 December the last market for the year – and your final chance to stock up. It’s the place to fill your basket with just-picked fruit and veg for Christmas lunch, locally made relishes and chutneys for cheese boards. Handmade candles, jewellery, soaps and artisanal treats make great gifts.
Across Gidgegannup, Mundaring, Kalamunda, Armadale and Serpentine Jarrahdale, the Perth Hills delivers a December that’s big on spirit.
