Open Gardens WA | Dragonfly Ponds

A secret garden… hidden in a cider orchard.

A visit to Core Cider in Pickering Brook is great fun for the whole family. Delicious farm-to-table food, beautiful views, well equipped playgrounds, and of course the exceptional artisan ciders on offer.

A visit has just got one step richer, with the very first public opening of a secret garden hidden within the 80 year old orchard – for one weekend only – to raise funds for Breast Cancer WA.

Hidden between rows of fruit trees are the beautiful and rarely visited Dragonfly Ponds. Walking down from the restaurant through the (usually locked) gate and following the path through rows of tall espaliered Apple and Pear trees, you very suddenly emerge into a hidden oasis of lush emerald green lawns and large natural ponds filled with plants, with a picturesque little bridge.

With an impressive collection of ornamental species in autumn colour, this garden is not to be missed.
