Exhibition | Memory and Cloth

Zig Zag Gallery

This collaboration between Anne Farren and Joy Denise Scott extends their ongoing investigation into textiles and making, and the ability of cloth to tell stories and generate conversations around identity. Memories are embedded within cloth and the structure of a garment or textile forms, and the techniques used in making the works emphasise the elusive nature of memory, and serve as a metaphor for nostalgia, grief, and loss, and give voice to lived experiences that form one’s identity.
