Morning
At the base of the Darling Scarp start you day with a hike in Mundy Regional Park, Forrestfield, we suggest the Palm Terrace Walk Trail. This hike circles Lesmurdie Falls taking you from bottom to top with sweeping views over the Swan Coastal Plain, take in the beauty and breathe in the fresh Hills air. The waterfall is at its best from July to September after the first heavy winter rains…. P.S gumboots may be needed. Admire its beauty and power when you reach the base!

Midday
After your adventurous morning, make your way to the Zig Zag Cultural Centre in Kalamunda for brunch or lunch depending on how early you started – Mason & Bird are the perfect café for this with their $65 winter platter for two offer including a glass of mulled wine each, and DJ every Saturday from 10am to 1pm, enjoy!
Right next door is the Kalamunda Visitor Centre where you can browse local and Australian made giftware, plenty of souvenir options here, before continuing into the Zig Zag Gallery to enjoy an art exhibition, there’s always something different to see and it’s free to view!

Afternoon
Continue the art theme and pick up a Kalamunda ArtWalk brochure from the Visitor Centre. This easy trail guides you around the town center showcasing the public art and murals on display, perfect for photos. Along the way it passes boutique gift and clothing stores like The Micro Collective which are worth popping into, before stopping at Elevated Grounds Coffeehouse for a warming hot chocolate, or SOL – Spoonfuls of Love for a winter dessert or ice cream spending up to $30 depending on how many toppings you choose… the choice is hard! This is an ideal place to pause.

With the day’s end nearing and change to spare, the perfect finale is the Zig Zag Scenic Drive. Stop and take in the sunset and enjoy the beautiful view before you wind your way down the hill and plan your next Kalamunda visit.
