If you’d like to be mindful about reusing and browsing thoughtfully when you shop, Mundaring is the spot for op shopping. It’s a greener, cheaper way to shop, and so good for the community. Whether you’re hunting vintage clothes, refilling pantry staples without plastic packaging, picking up low-mileage fresh produce, or even searching for a retro gift, Mundaring offers plenty of shopping options you’ll want to reuse!
Mundaring Op-shops
There are so many op-shops and second-hand stores in Mundaring’s heart. It’s easy to make a morning of wandering around them, stopping at a café or two along the way. Red Cross Shop Mundaring adds a polished thrift option, with much of their clothing still with tags on, or near new. Salvos Stores Mundaring is an Aladdin’s cave of pre-loved clothing, homewares, and bric-a-brac.

Frock n Flippers Op Shop, found at Mundaring Adult Creative & Learning Centre, has more of a treasure-hunt feel, with recycled fashion and thousands of books. The Mundaring Anglican Church Op Shop is also well worth a look.

Sustainable Shopping in Mundaring
The same, mindful approach carries through to Mundaring’s retail scene. Wasteless Pantry makes low-waste living easy, with hundreds of refillable food staples. Focused on reducing plastic packaging, BYO jar to fill with flour, spices, nuts and so much more.

Venessa’s Vintage Treasures is bringing back retro homeware gems, with a whole heap of quality glassware, crockery, vinyl and more. Here, pre-loved goodies get a second life and make beautiful gifts.

Low-kilometre Fresh Produce and Artisan Finds
Sustainability is not just about what you buy, but where it comes from. Found in Mundaring Sculpture Park, the weekly Saturday morning Mundaring Garden and Farmers Market has low-kilometre seasonal fruit, vegetables and meat, plus homemade goods and handcrafted wares. It’s a great way to support local small businesses cutting down on the transport attached to everyday purchases. It is also where the town’s creative side shines, with local artisans offering everything from preserves and plants to handmade gifts and small-batch products. Shopping here feels fresher, friendlier and more personal than a supermarket run.

From op shops and vintage treasures to refill stores and market stalls piled with just-picked produce, Mundaring makes conscious shopping feel easy and enjoyable.
Be sure to check with individual stores for opening times.
