Armadale to Serpentine Jarrahdale

From Armadale, take a drive to the historical timber town of Jarrahdale. Along the way, stop at Langford Park for a cycle along the MTB trail network, before arriving in the heart of Jarrahdale.

Make your first stop the Old Post Office and Museum (open weekends), soak up the history of the region, take a wander around the town’s heritage buildings and refuel with morning tea at a café.

One of the Perth Hills’ most popular walk trails, Kitty’s Gorge, begins from the nearby Jarrahdale Cemetery. This gravel track winds through the heart of the Serpentine River Valley through shady woodlands, past old timber bridges, flowing winter waterfalls and creeks, seasonal wildflowers and huge granite outcrops.

After a bushwalk, relax with a cellar door tasting or lazy lunch at an award-winning winery. Take a short drive through forest and farmland to Serpentine Dam. Walk across the dam wall, and enjoy a bite to eat amongst the friendly birdlife at the café.

Hop back in the car to explore the southernmost region of the Perth Hills. Kangaroos hop around the popular picnic area at Serpentine National Park, where the breathtaking Serpentine Falls are also found. With plenty of memories made in the Perth Hills, head back to the city.

Book an overnight stay and linger longer in this region of the Perth Hills. From budget-friendly powered campsites and chalets, to secluded tiny houses and more. Serpentine Jarrahdale is a peaceful base for a nature-packed Perth Hills’ escape.
