Discover the best that Roley Pools has to offer: massive granite boulders, calm waters of the pools, the river meandering through the trees and sweeping views across native bushland.

Roley Pools has been used as a local swimming hole for many years and is part of Roleystone folklore. The walk along the river’s edge encompasses a variety of terrain such as giant Granite outcrops and Dolerite boulders.

A wide and diverse range of wildlife can be found in and around this section of the river, with many native ducks, kingfishers, Quenda, kangaroos, wallabies, several species of fish, snakes, lizards and Australia’s only native water rat, “Rakali” residing there.

This section of Roley Pools can be accessed from the parking area on Soldiers Road. A large section of the trail is a boardwalk however there are some steps and natural paths along this trail.

This trail can be added to the Roley Pools Heritage Trail to create a 5.8km return walk.

Information regarding this trail and other trails along this section of the Canning River can be accessed here or pick up a brochure from the Perth Hills Armadale Visitor Centre.
