Stroll along the banks of Djarlgarro (Canning River) to the Roley Pools, where you can enjoy the tranquillity and view relics of the historic diving board and change rooms.

Roley Pools has been used as a local swimming hole for many years and is part of Roleystone folklore. Walk along the river’s edge past giant Granite outcrops.

This trail runs along the north side of the Canning River in Roleystone, between Soldiers Road and the staircase entrance from Collins Road, with a small area of parking available at each site. Collins Road has direct access down the steep stone staircase to the main Pool area.

A wide and diverse range of wildlife can be found in and around this section of the river, with many native ducks, kingfishers, Quenda, kangaroos, wallabies, several species of fish, snakes, lizards and Australia’s only native water rat, “Rakali” residing there.

One of four trails in the reserve to follow along this section of the Canning River, the Roley Pools Walk Trail can be added to the Boardwalk, Nature’s Spa and Heritage Walk Trails which run along the south side of the river from the Soldiers Road carpark through to Heritage Drive.

Information regarding this walk trail can be accessed here or pick up a brochure from the Perth Hills Armadale Visitor Centre.
