What’s NEW in the Perth Hills this December

Make the most of summer in the Perth Hills, whether you’re seeking relaxation, adventure, tasty bites or a little bit of everything. From outdoor cinemas, to shady picnics, sipping on a spritz and beer garden hangs, the Perth Hills has lots of fresh, new things to do this December.

Here’s our round up of new things to do and experience all around the Perth Hills this month.

MUNDARING

We’re SO excited that Kookaburra Outdoor Cinema is back for the 24/25 summer season! After a destructive freak tornado last summer, the beloved cinema amongst the forest has reopened. Pack a picnic and head to the shady spot near Mundaring Weir to enjoy movies under the stars. The season runs from November to the beginning of April.

GIDGEGANNUP

Christmas is cooking at Gidgegannup Bakery & Cafe. The air is filled with the mouthwatering aroma of freshly baked fruit mince pies, scrumptious Christmas cookies, gingerbread and more. These treats are perfect as gifts or for sharing at festive gatherings – or why not treat yourself?

SERPENTINE-JARRAHDALE

We swung by to the Serpentine Falls Tavern for a sip in the beer garden! Closed for six years, while the historic pub has had a careful renovation, and classic heritage features are back. There’s a big menu with all the pub favourites, a new pizza oven being put to good use and a cool beer garden shaded by lots of leafy trees.

ARMADALE

Enjoy a shady picnic at Araluen Botanic Park this December! The new Chalet Healy is hosting a gourmet picnic on Sunday, 8th December. Their curated grazing boxes (feeding 2 to 5 people) includes a selection of quality cheeses (soft, blue, and hard), Australian and Italian meats, dips, quince paste, a selection of crackers, fresh seasonal fruit, nuts, and dried fruit. Limited are spots available, bookings essential.

KALAMUNDA

Brunch favourites Mason & Bird have branched out into dinner, and their Friday afternoons are now even more buzzing with “Sangria Fridays” to kick off the weekend. Every Friday throughout summer they’ll be slinging $8 glasses of sangria, and a DJ will be bringing the vibe. Plus, the first Sunday of the month is now known as “Spritzy Sunday” with a $12 Spritz menu and live music or a DJ. Grab your mates and be sure to book!
