It’s July, and we’re knee-deep in cosy winter comforts. Mid-winter in the Perth Hills is all about trails along winter creeks, gushing waterfalls, rugging up for bustling markets and warming Sunday roasts. From much-loved music festivals to newly opened trails, wellness workshops and delicious foodie events, there’s plenty to discover in the Perth Hills this month.

Here’s what to experience this July:

MUNDARING

DCBA – Blue MTB Trail

If you’re still meaning to check out the new Glen Brook elevated walkway at John Forrest National Park, there’s even more reasons to visit Perth Hills’ most-loved bushland spots – a brand-new mountain bike trail! The Borhn Off-Road Cycle Trail branches off the existing Noolbenger Trail. The 8.3km bike trail is best for intermediate riders, as there are plenty of technical features to get your adrenaline pumping. Find out more here.

An old favourite has a NEW home! Old Mates café has moved a little further up Haynes Street (next to The Vault), and we have to say, we love this new spot even more. You’ll find the same great coffee, food and warm welcome, along with a fresh space adorned with a Kalamunda-themed mural. Come for a cuppa, stay for a bite to eat, and be sure to take a wander around the town’s many boutique stores afterwards. Find out more here.

Winter brings another season, truffle season!  Millbrook Winery’s popular Truffle Lunch is back this winter, on 18 July. Begin with canapés at the cellar door, followed by an indulgent five-course seated lunch featuring exquisite Smithbrook truffles mingling with seasonal produce from the estate garden. Perfectly paired with Millbrook wines, bookings are essential for this decadent winter event.

GIDGEGANNUP
