June in the Perth Hills is all about crisp mornings, misty valleys and a sprinkle of winter magic! Winter comforts are real, and we love an excuse for a wander followed by cosy shows and a celebratory lunch by the fire. From fresh infrastructure in the bushland to stage shows in Roleystone and a big brewery win for the Serpentine-Jarrahdale region, here’s what to put on your radar this month.
MUNDARING

A new John Forrest National Park walkway is giving one of the Perth Hills’ most-loved bushland spots a fresh way to wander. Expect an easy-to-add highlight for a day out, the elevated walkway makes it simpler to soak up the tree-top views and winter greenery. Pack a picnic, take your time, and see what you can spot from this new vantage point. Find out more here.
KALAMUNDA

The Cray has opened in Gooseberry Hill, taking over the beloved Embers site. It’s the 10th location for this popular seafood chain. Expect seriously luxe interiors and the feast-worthy platters that have made them famous. Wondering what to order? It’s hard to go past their signature seafood platters, featuring grilled local crayfish with herb garlic butter, creamy garlic prawns, sizzling king prawns, marinated crumbed prawns, masala tiger prawns, cajun crumbed calamari, lemon pepper grilled calamari, prawn skewers, pickled vegetable salad and more. Not a seafood lover? There are easy options for all, including chicken parmigiana and lamb curry.
ARMADALE

The Roleystone Theatre is steering into an epic show this month with ‘Titanic The Musical’. Using the recollections of survivors and their individual tales, capturing the glamour and tragedy of the ill-fated “Ship of Dreams” – this is not to be missed. Make it a Perth Hills evening: with a pre-show dinner, then showtime in Roleystone for a great night out. Find out more here.
SERPENTINE-JARRAHDALE

King Road Brewing Co. is collecting awards, and honestly, if you haven’t visited the rural spot in a while, consider this your nudge. The brewery took home a few trophies at the recent Perth Royal Beer Awards, winning the top gong “Champion Beer” for the King Road Brewing Pale Ale. Be sure to settle in for a tasting paddle, order a hearty bite to eat, and enjoy the atmosphere. Find out more here.

If Paruna Wildlife Sanctuary was on your 2026 to-hike list, it’s worth noting it’s still closed. Usually, it opens each May, for hiking season, but it was significantly damaged by a storm in 2025. Consider visiting nearby F.R.Berry Reserve instead, with a long lunch at Noble Falls Tavern. We’ll announce opening dates as soon as we hear any news. Find out more here.
Be sure to enjoy something new in the Perth Hills this month – they’re closer than you think.
