We’ve been enjoying the best of winter here in the Perth Hills, as spring will be starting to sprout very soon! This month, we’re looking forward to a taste of this blooming lovely season, as wildflowers and tulips begin to show their colours.
August in the Perth Hills is a heady mix of lush green trails, cosy fireplaces, budding flowers and more. From iconic flower festivals, to live shows, a new market, winter festivals and more, the Perth Hills have plenty of things to experience this month.

Here’s our round up of things to experience in the Perth Hills this August.
GIDGEGANNUP
There are still a few concerts coming to one of Perth’s best boutique concert venues, Red Hill Auditorium, in 2025. This magic spot for live gigs has epic views of the city lights and an exciting lineup of events. Aussie rock legends Grinspoon and Regurgitator will be taking the stage (8 Nov), ask your friends to “Take me Out” to Franz Ferdinand’s gig, with special guests Teeneage Dads (26 Nov) and Canadian Bluegrass four-piece The Dead South will be performing (28 Nov). MUNDARING
Wake up and smell the coffee in Helena Valley! There’s a fresh new vibe brewing at Daily Goods Pantry and Canteen—formerly known as Silly Goose. While the name’s had a glow-up, all your favourite friendly faces and mouthwatering takeaway treats are still here to stay. Same charm. New name. Even better vibes. Get more information here.

KALAMUNDA
The winter celebration, Fire Fable & Feast is coming back to Core Cider House August 2! The unique annual event marks the end of frosty nights and chilly days, as the seasons move towards new life in the Perth Hills orchards. Under a star-filled sky, the orchard will be warmed with energy, fun and bonfires for a rich harvest ahead! There’ll be drums and chants, live music with song and dance, fire performers, food and drink, a roaming snake charmer, storytelling, and plenty of basking by the fire.

ARMADALE
If you’re itching to see the famous Araluen tulips, there’s good news – Its’ Yates Springtime is back for another year at Araluen Botanic Park, this month! From August 22 onwards, bask in all the pretty colours with a wander and picnic amongst the tulips. This spring, 200,000 tulips, 70,000 delightful spring bulbs, an international camellia collection, and heritage roses will be in full bloom. Get more information here.

SERPENTINE JARRAHDALE
Jarrahdale Community Collective are hosting a night of bush dancing with live music from the Mucky Duck Bush Band on Aug 2. Head to Jarrahdale and don your cowboy boots for plenty of fun (no dancing experience necessary), plus prizes, a raffle and games to be won. Get more information here.
