What’s NEW in the Perth Hills this May

Autumn is in full swing up in the Perth Hills, but we’ve saved the BEST until last, it’s crunchy leaf time!

May is when the deciduous trees in Perth Hills parks and orchards turn a million brilliant colours of gold, orange, yellow and red. From newly re-opened hiking trails to autumn leaf festivals, and even a wine and art trail, the Perth Hills has lots of new things to check out this month.

Also, you may have noticed exciting changes to the Experience Perth Hills brand on Facebook and Instagram:

  • Perth Hills Mundaring – is now known as “Experience Perth Hills Mundaring”
  • Perth Hills Armadale – is now known as “Experience Perth Hills Armadale”
  • And the Kalamunda region, already represented by “Experience Perth Hills Kalamunda”, has a fresh new-look logo too.

The immense Perth Hills area is made up of five regions; Gidgegannup, Mundaring, Kalamunda, Armadale and Serpentine-Jarrahdale. Each region has its own feel and unique offering. If you don’t already, be sure to follow these three Perth Hills regional accounts. You can expect plenty of exciting posts specifically about those areas of the Perth Hills.

As always, the main account, Experience Perth Hills, on both Facebook and Instagram, will bring you the very best of what’s happening throughout the entire Perth Hills region.

Here’s our round up of things to experience in the Perth Hills this May.

GIDGEGANNUP

From May 1, you can lace up your hiking boots at one of the Perth Hills’ most special spots – Paruna Wildlife Sanctuary! The protected Gidgegannup nature reserve has been hibernating over summer and is ready to reopen. Be sure to experience a little Paruna magic yourself – there are three trails ranging from the family friendly Possum Loop (2.3km) to the calf burning 12km Numbat Walking Track. The beautiful Quenda Circuit is their “Goldilocks” trail at 6.5km. Bookings ($11pp) are essential.
