Spotlight on Mundaring Town Centre

When was the last time you took a wander around Mundaring’s town centre?  A lap of this Perth Hills’ hub will reward you with art galleries, cute cafes, gift shops, and a whole heap of heritage.

Things to Do in Mundaring

The best place to start is at The Perth Hills Mundaring Visitor Centre. Chat with our friendly officers to help you plan a route tailored to your interests, be that nature, art, shopping, or food. You’ll leave with a handful of brochures, and fresh “what’s on” knowledge. Next door, the Mundaring District Museum brings stories that make the town’s old buildings, rail history and bushland come to life. For history on foot, stroll the Mundaring Heritage Walk, passing by many points of interest and historic buildings from the town’s past.

Just over Great Eastern Highway, which cuts through the centre of town, the Mundaring Arts Centre is a must. Exciting exhibitions rotate regularly and the beautifully curated gift shop is perfect for finding locally made pieces.

At the other end of Nichol Street, Mundaring Sculpture Park is part outdoor gallery, part social hub, with a big adventure playground that you’ll have to drag the kids from. You’ll often find the Steep Hill Coffee truck rolling in, and on Saturday mornings the park hosts the Mundaring Garden and Farmers Market packed with fresh produce, locally made treats, and a warm community buzz.

The park is home to the trailhead for the epic Munda Biddi Trail, and the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail passes through, giving you more outdoor adventure options.

Shopping in Mundaring leans towards character over chain stores. Venessa’s Vintage Treasures is packed with nostalgia and curiosities from decades gone by and there are plenty of boutiques to find around Mundaring Village. For the eco-conscious, Wasteless Pantry has plenty of ideas for your home and kitchen. If you love that vibe, why not have a rummage at a local Mundaring Op Shop?
